Our Vision & Commitments
Our program is built on a foundation of measurable progress and institutional integrity. We don’t just offer a vision for 2030;
we offer a roadmap of specific, tangible commitments designed to elevate European chess to its highest level.
We invite every national federation to join us as partners in this architecture of progress, ensuring that the legacy
of European chess is defined by transparency, growth, integrity, and global leadership. Our commitments are centered on
our core pillars: a Federations-First model, the expansion of growth and value, investment in people, organizational
modernization, the continued building of trust, and the cultivation of strategic partnerships.

Program for Chess in Education
Chess in Education represents the most scalable way to grow global participation while delivering measurable cognitive
and educational value. As a core pillar of the ECU2030 vision, the Chess in Education programme shifts the focus
from purely competitive outcomes to broader classroom benefits, removing cost and distance barriers through
modern methodology and centralized digital services. The initiative has already delivered university-certified teacher
training alongside turnkey lesson packages via the ECU Hub, providing a proven, scalable blueprint for national federations
to modernize their educational structures and secure sustainable funding across the continent.

Development Projects & Federation Support
The ECU2030 team has introduced the Program of Development Projects & Federation Support, a practical initiative designed
to strengthen European national chess federations. A combined €200,000 fund will support social chess, training,
and education, alongside financial backing for historic regional events. To ease administrative tasks, federations will receive a
toolkit containing project templates, alongside regular mentoring to turn ideas into fundable project plans. The program
will also share a proven digital blueprint based on successful EU-funded models to help federations attract public funding.
Additionally, open talent pathways and structured trainings will ensure players can excel without geographical or budgetary barriers.
Built on a “federations-first” model, this initiative guarantees that development directly impacts chess across Europe.
